Customizing the e2v IR-EK2 for Serial Communication with a PC

The IR-EK2 communicates with a PC via a USB interface (see attached circuit diagram), using a CP2102 IC to emulate a serial port. When the CP2102 driver is installed in a PC, it will appear to the PC that the evaluation kit is comunicating via RS232.
